Xcalibur is an image processing product designed to remove constraints onimage format, size, sensor type, and number of spectral bands. Basedupon industry standards, Xcalibur is written in C and runs the X WindowSystem using OSF/Motif. It is extensible, portable, and scalable.Xcalibur employs a powerful hypermedia user interface to organize andpresent images with associated information and to allow access to nearly200 image processing functions. Xcalibur is architected with independentobject-oriented engines; an interpretive protocol language calledPixScript provides the method for communication among these engines.Xcalibur supports visualization applications like remote sensing/mapping,military/intelligence operations, medical imaging, scientific research,industrial inspection, bio-security identification, electronic/digitalprepress, and astrophysics imaging.
